We went for our regular 6 week weigh-in...
Height: 75.5 cm (0.5 cm longer from last visit)
Weight- 18lbs. 7oz. (up 1 lbs)
Head circumference: 44.5 m (up 1.5 cm)
She is very close to 20 lbs... she is on an upward trend, this has never happened, it always was more like a roller coaster ride.
Our pediatrician at the Glenrose believes that CMV is the probable cause of her growth delay however she does not want to miss anything so she is referring us to the Pediatric Endocrine Clinic for an assessment. They will check her growth hormones which could be causing the delay.
She is getting closer and closer to walking! She lets herself go when standing against something... she's working on her balance.
As for her CI implants, we are less than a week away from Sienna's activiation! Can't wait!

I can't believe you're only a week away from activation! Sienna's going to be hear her family's "I love you's" before you know it! So exciting! Have you seen Leah's blog - Say What? (there's a link on my blog) Her little guy has been going through a lot of testing (he is a tiny little guy) ... may not be related what-so-ever, but thought I'd lead you there just in case it could help somewhat. Can't wait to hear about activation!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments, Tammy, and everyone else, you're all so sweet. I will definitely check out Leah's blog! Thanks for that!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you left a comment on my blog! We've been on a wild goose chase to find the cause of Nolan's poor weight gain for some time now. Our pediatrician didn't worry about it (he was in the 60th% at 3 months old, then fell to below the 3% at 12 months and remains there today). We were concerned, however, because he has mild head lag and the hearing loss as well (which has been fluctuant and progressive, though we're still in the moderate range).
ReplyDeleteOur ENT sent us to a GI doc (they're doing an upper endoscopy and 24 hour pH probe). She actually asked if Nolan had been tested for CMV- he hasn't been tested, and my OB/GYN clinic doesn't run testing for CMV on pregnant mothers. Very frustrating! I was reading your blog and I might ask about the newborn blood spot testing. Nolan has suspected gastroparesis (delayed gastric emptying), but Buffalo Children's did the testing incorrectly so we aren't positive yet!
Sorry to post such a long comment, lol! Nolan is now on DuoCal to increase his weight. He's two at the end of August as well (August 27).
Just came across your blog, and wanted to say welcome to the CI world! So much joy and excitement ahead of you. Are you on cicircle? Fantastic parent support listserve at Yahoo groups. Check out cicircle.org for more info and a link to the listserve.
ReplyDeleteActivation day was such a great day for CJ. He didn't even know what to do with himself he was so excited. Congrats on a very special milestone. Can't wait to read more details.
